I am a little late: the Centenary cake is from last year!! …but it was very beautiful!
First of all, “Centenary” means 50+50, not 100!
My husband and I both turned 50 within a short time of each other, so we decided to have just one cake.
The cake depicts two peacocks with very long tails that intertwine. In ancient Christian symbolism, the peacock represented great longevity, which is why I chose it for this composition.
The cake has a sponge base, and decorating the peacocks took several days, using a very particular technique to make the tail feathers.
The following photos show the cake at different stages of work, followed by photographs from various angles.
